I'm always amazed by the generosity & dedication of those instructors along with students who participate each year to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.  Each year with no political agenda a group of Martial Arts instructors who "walk the walk" showing there's no need to "talk the talk" when their best foot is moving forward for a great cause.

There was a spectacular display of Lucaylucay Kali, by Master's Hall of Fame & Kick Punch Hall of Fame awardee Guro Wes Bennett.  Guro Wes worked the group masterfully through the Numerado drill of Kali.

Guro Mike Casto shared his insights of Cacoy Doce Pares & Silat.  While later Guro Mike Schwarz shared the intricacies of D/C Serrada System of Escrima with flavor of it's own.

Though some familiar faces were missing at this event due to prior commitments, we hope that they will join us at the next event.  It is with the cooperation of the entire martial arts community that can grow this event larger & stronger each year.

Although, I'm certain similar form letters are sent to thousands each year, I did want to share this letter I received from the Wounded Warrior Project.  Thanks again to all instructors & attendees who donated their valuable time.

Dear Michael,
Your support of Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) is not only meaningful to America's injured warriors — it plays a key role in changing their lives. I'd like you to read what these heroes have to say about the impact you have made during their recovery.
After reflecting on their heartfelt words, I hope you'll be moved to stand by injured warriors during their difficult journey.
William E. Thomas, Jr. describes how powerfully the WWP community has changed his life since his injury:
“WWP had such a profound effect on me. I could communicate with other warriors about our traumas and how it affected us. It was an opportunity to talk to people who know exactly what I’m talking about — those who were directly involved in some of the same things that I’ve experienced.”
Brian Schwitters speaks of his experience at a Project Odyssey™:
“It showed me I’m not alone. It opened up my eyes to the wealth of information and benefits at WWP and all the resources available to individuals.” You are the support system wounded veterans need through their recovery. Every time an injured warrior or family member thanks WWP, their gratitude rightly belongs to you. That’s why I want to share their words with you and why I’m counting on you to appreciate the urgent need for your continued support of WWP programs and services. Thank you for all you do to empower our heroes.

Sincerely,

Steven Nardizzi
